Brazilian player protests over yellow card by doing the Moonwalk

Tuesday, May 8, 2012

A Brazilian league game on Sunday was the setting for a bizarre scene when a player paid tribute to Michael Jackson by moonwalking to display his shirt number when booked.

Sport Recife defender Tobi was shown a yellow card 25 minutes into the second half for a foul on Santa Cruz forward Flávio Caça-Rato.

The referee then asked for Tobi to display his squad number, with the player turning around and producing a mini moonwalk, much to the groundsman's chagrin.
