Joe Hart confident for Liverpool showdown

Saturday, April 12, 2014

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart expects his side to take to the field with confidence in their potential Premier League decider with Liverpool on Sunday.

The Reds currently top the table and are four points ahead of the Citizens, who have two games in hand and who are 8/11 with bet365 to be crowned champions for the second time in three seasons.

Hart insists that City will not be daunted by what promises to be a cracking atmosphere on Merseyside, with the Reds having won their last nine consecutive league games.

The England goalkeeper said: "I don't think it is too bad that a few of us in the squad have got a winners' medal already. We are all just hungry for the next one.

"There has been a lot of build-up from the weeks previous, but we've remained focused on our games and we go into Liverpool confident."

The meeting of the two sides earlier this season ended in a 2-1 win for the hosts at the Etihad Stadium, with Vincent Kompany and Álvaro Negredo the goalscorers for City.
