Bolivian President Evo Morales signs as professional footballer

Bolivian President Evo Morales, aged 54, has signed a contract as a player for first division football club Sport Boys Warnes.
Morales, who is an avid football fan, is a honourary member of the club and he was treated with this consideration after being signed to be a player on the squad starting next season.
The President will play as a midfielder and wear number 10, while his monthly paycheck will be in line with the country's minimum wage of $213.
He will debut with his team when the championship kicks off in Apertura in August, but will play as far as his work schedule allows him.
"He loves football and he plays well," Sport Boys President Mario Cronenbold told Reuters. "And besides he is in very good shape."
According to local media, Morales is the first incumbent President of the state in the world, who has signed a contract with a professional football club.
