Mbappé has continued to score goals for fun since then and will be a tough nut to crack in the battle to win the Golden Boot this summer.
Harry Kane - England
Hary Kane's tally of six goals helped England reach the semi-finals at Russia 2018, and he will be eager to help them progress even further this summer.The Three Lions are one of the favourites to lift the trophy, despite repeatedly coming up short when the heat is on at major tournaments.
Kane will likely be England's top goalscorer in North America, but he makes limited appeal as a betting proposition in the Golden Boot market.

If Haaland hits the ground running during the group stage, odds of 11/1 to be the top goalscorer could be exceptional value.
Cristiano Ronaldo - Portugal

Odds of 18/1 look generous given the talent in Spain's squad and Oyarzabal looks worth supporting this summer.
Romelu Lukaku - Belgium
Romelu Lukaku has scored five goals in 12 World Cup appearances for Belgium across the 2014, 2018 and 2022 tournaments.He was the joint second-highest scorer with four goals alongside four other players at Russia 2018 and will be eager to improve on that tally this summer.
However, the 32-year-old has struggled with injuries this season and it would be a major surprise if he challenges for the Golden Boot in North America.
