Colombia's latest viral World Cup fan has drawn attention after cheering on her country during their opening victory in Mexico City.

Influencer Evely Cardenas shared a striking set of photos with her 25,000 Instagram followers after watching Los Cafeteros beat Uzbekistan 3-1 at the famous Estadio Azteca.

Cardenas embraced the occasion in a casual but stylish outfit, pairing blue jeans with a fitted white crop top and a pastel pink designer handbag whilst enjoying the electric atmosphere inside the stadium.

Several of the images showed her proudly draping the Colombian flag across her shoulders as she cheered on her national team from the stands.

Other photos captured jubilant Colombia supporters celebrating a memorable night in Mexico City.

The Instagram post also featured clips from the match itself, including footage of Luis Díaz celebrating his goal alongside Daniel Muñoz.

Colombia make ideal start

Colombia enjoyed a dream start to their World Cup campaign.

Muñoz opened the scoring shortly before half-time, but tournament debutants Uzbekistan responded through Abbosbek Fayzullaev shortly after the hour mark.

The South Americans quickly regained control when Díaz continued his outstanding form by restoring Colombia's lead.

Uzbekistan continued to battle until the closing stages, but substitute Jaminton Campaz sealed the victory with a stoppage-time goal, securing a 3-1 triumph and three valuable points for Colombia.
