Erling Haaland leads viral 'Viking row' at Gianluigi Donnarumma's wedding
Erling Haaland turned Gianluigi Donnarumma’s wedding into an unexpected football-and-party crossover, leading the viral "Viking row" celebration as guests looked on in amusement.

The Manchester City forward brought plenty of energy to the lavish ceremony in southern Italy, entertaining fellow guests by leading the synchronised celebration that has become closely associated with Norway's national team.

The celebration became one of the defining fan moments of the World Cup after Norway adopted it during their memorable run in the tournament. Led by captain Martin Ødegaard, the squad regularly performed the routine after victories, with supporters around the world soon joining in.

Haaland brings World Cup celebration to Donnarumma's big day

A video shared by Sky Sports quickly spread across social media, showing Haaland standing on stage beating a drum whilst rows of seated guests leaned backwards and forwards in unison, chanting along to the rhythm.

The 26-year-old enthusiastically directed the celebration before bursting into laughter after one guest appeared unsure of the choreography.

He briefly paused the performance to demonstrate the rowing movement, drawing even more laughs from those in attendance.

Haaland attended the wedding alongside his long-time partner, Isabel Haugseng Johansen, as Donnarumma married Alessia Elefante in the picturesque town of Locorotondo, Italy.

The ceremony attracted several of Europe's biggest football names. Italy internationals Sandro Tonali and Nicolò Barella were among the guests, whilst AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini also attended the celebrations.

A well-earned break before a new era at Manchester City

The celebrations come during the final weeks of the summer break before the Citizens begin a new chapter under head coach Enzo Maresca.

The Italian replaces Pep Guardiola following the Spaniard's remarkable decade at the Etihad Stadium. During his ten-year reign, Guardiola transformed City into one of Europe's dominant forces, winning 20 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and the club's first UEFA Champions League crown.

Whilst attention will soon turn back to pre-season preparations, Haaland's latest off-field appearance reminded fans why he remains one of football's biggest personalities as well as one of its most prolific goalscorers.

The "Viking Row" may have started as a World Cup celebration, but thanks to Haaland, it has now found a memorable place on the dance floor too.
