According to Peru's National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec), 468 newborns have been registered with the surname "Haaland," whilst another 91 babies have been given the full name "Erling Haaland."Officials said registrations increased significantly in the weeks after the World Cup began, with numbers rising even further once Norway reached the quarter-finals for the first time in the nation's history.
Reniec spokesperson Iván Torres told state news agency Andina that football's biggest stars continue to influence naming trends across Peru.
