United's problems are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. Roma could hardly have asked for a better preparation ahead of their trip to Manchester.Gasperini's side have won four of their last five matches, with their attacking performances becoming one of the most impressive features of their recent campaign.
Their latest result was a commanding 5-2 victory away to Udinese on Saturday. It followed a 4-2 victory over Cagliari and a 3-3 draw against Napoli, underlining Roma's ability to create chances and cause problems for opposing defences.
Their previous Champions League performance was equally encouraging, with a convincing 4-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava.
However, Roma are not without weaknesses. They conceded three goals against Napoli and two each against Cagliari and Udinese.
The Italian side also have some difficult memories of previous meetings with United, including a 7-1 defeat in 2007 and a 6-2 loss in 2021.

Harry Maguire is expected to feature in central defence, potentially alongside Lisandro MartÃnez if the Argentine is available for selection.Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot are options at full-back, whilst Senne Lammens is expected to retain his position in goal.

United need their captain to take control of this contest.Fernandes remains one of the team's most important creative players, particularly when opponents defend deep or leave space between their midfield and defensive lines.
His positioning will be especially interesting if Carrick decides to use Tielemans in a more advanced central role.
United need Fernandes to create opportunities, improve their attacking tempo and provide leadership when the pressure increases.
