Chelsea were held to a 0-0 draw by Romanian underdogs Cluj and had striker Didier Drogba stretchered off with serious ankle ligament damage.

The striker was making his first Champions League appearance since his red card in the final last season, but twisted awkwardly while trying to get to a cross from Florent Malouda.

Nicolas Anelka hit a post and had the rebound disallowed but the Blues never managed to impress during the match.

Mirko Vučinić headed Roma level on 64 minutes and substitute Julio Baptista struck twice inside the closing 20 minutes as Roma moved to within a point of Chelsea and Cluj in Group A.

Werder Bremen drew 1-1 at Inter Milan as Claudio Pizarro could have won it late on for the Germans.

Dimitris Salpingidis pulled one back for the visitors in the 28th minute from the penalty spot, but Hawar Taher's 78th minute header sealed Anorthosis' first ever Champions League victory.

But Messi came off the bench to turn things around as he made it 1-1 in the 87th minute and then won the match with an injury time chip.

Robbie Keane grabbed his first Liverpool goal in a 3-1 win against PSV Eindhoven at Anfield.

Liverpool dominated the match and it took only five minutes for the Reds to open the scoring through Dutch attacker Dirk Kuyt.

On 34 minutes, Keane doubled the lead as he volleyed home his first goal for the club following Fernando Torres' cross.

And there was another landmark in the 76th minute when captain Steven Gerrard scored his 100th goal for Liverpool from a free-kick.

Danny Koevermans snapped a consolation for PSV two minutes later when he poked home a centre from former Reds full-back Jan Kronkamp.

Argentine ace Sergio Agüero continued his impressive form in the Champions League as Atlético Madrid saw off Marseille 2-1 at Vicente Calderón.

Agüero scored twice against PSV two weeks ago and required just four minutes to put the hosts ahead with a brilliant take and finish.

Marseille levelled 12 minutes later through a far post Mamadou Niang header from a right-wing cross.

But Raúl García restored Atletico's lead on 22 minutes to secure a second straight Champions League win.

Atlético will meet Group D co-leader Liverpool, who also have maximum points, next in Madrid, where it will come up against their former prince Fernando Torres.
