Kaká: I almost leave Milan

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Kaká has confessed that AC Milan were on the verge of losing him to Manchester City in the winter transfer period.

While the Brazilian claims that parting ways with the Rossoneri was never a likely option, he did consider leaving at one stage before Milan supremo Silvio Berlusconi stepped in at the very last moment to halt negotiations.

"I thought about what I had won here, and also the things that I still want to win in these colours, and because of that, I couldn’t leave," Kaká declared in an interview with Sportsmediaset.

"Another decisive factor was the affection of the fans, which was extremely important for me.

"I never wanted to leave this club, and this was proven by the fact that I rejected all of the offers that came my way.

"However, out of respect for Milan, I did consider some of City’s offers, as from an economic point of view, their proposal was very convenient for them, meaning that I was considering leaving the club.

"AC Milan are also a business and in this moment of crisis, I think it is normal to consider the budget."
