Lazio brought an end to their slide down the Serie A table with a 1-1 draw with Torino at Stadio Olimpico.

The home side looked nervous after suffering four consecutive defeats and could have no complaints about being held by a side who have now drawn five in a row.

Torino opened the scoring after 37 minutes with their first shot on target. Ousmane Dabo's dismal clearance was straight at Ignazio Abate, who took two steps forward and unleashed an unstoppable right-footed shot past Fernando Muslera into the bottom corner.

Sebastiano Siviglia almost equalised on the stroke of half time when he picked up the ball at the far post and forced Matteo Sereni to make a crucial save with his legs.

There was a bizarre moment on the hour mark when Alexander Kolarov's fierce volley accidentally smashed the referee in the side of the face. Massimiliano Saccani needed treatment for a few minutes and was visibly dazed, but was able to continue.

The Biancoceleste finally got the goal they deserved in the 75th minute when Stefano Mauri attempted a spectacular overhead kick which became the perfect assist for Siviglia, who had an easy header from six yards to earn Lazio a point.

Elsewhere, Napoli's woes continued as they were also held at home to a 1-1 draw by Bologna.
