Sir Bobby Charlton has claimed the present Manchester United side may be the best yet in the club's distinguished history.

The 71-year-old legend, who led United to their first European Cup win in 1968, was full of praise after the world, European and English champions destroyed Arsenal 3-1 in the Champions League semis last Tuesday.

"This could be the greatest United team – absolutely – and it probably already is," Sir Bobby told The Daily Star.

"It is a different game now and you can’t really compare eras – but it’s just magic what they are doing and you have to enjoy it while it’s here.

"It was really nice at the end of Tuesday’s game that a lot of Arsenal fans stopped to applaud."
