Arsenal leading scorer Robin van Persie will make a shock comeback against Manchester United in the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday having recovered from a groin problem.

The Dutch forward has been out since the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea, but his rehabilitation is geared towards making him available for Tuesday.

"Robin van Persie is available and back in squad," Gunners boss Arsène Wenger said at his pre-match press conference on Monday.

"You want everybody in a game like that to be available. He gives me an opportunity to make a decision about our selection."

The other major injury concern that Wenger has is that of Mikaël Silvestre, who is struggling with a groin injury.

The former United defender is in the squad but Wenger admitted he will have to wait until the last minute to decide if the Frenchman can feature.

"He still has a little groin problem," Wenger said. "We will assess that on Tuesday."
