Park Ji-Sung can seems certain to start the Champions League final in Rome after being given a rousing assurance by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Park gave Manchester United the perfect start in their 3-1 win over Arsenal with an alert finish after Kieran Gibbs slipped while trying to clear Cristiano Ronaldo's cross.

The former PSV Eindhoven star suffered the worst moment of his career last season when Ferguson couldn't even find him a place on the substitutes' bench for the Champions League final victory over Chelsea in Moscow.

But, speaking after the match against Arsenal, Ferguson revealed that Park is set to get his wish to play in Europe's showpiece final in Rome.

He said: "Park is one of most underrated players in the game.

"We gave him a two-week rest after his sojourn to Korea. He came back really tired. I think it was the best thing we did because when I brought him back into the team on Saturday you saw the results of that freshness.

"He never stopped running. His movement and his understanding of space is really, really good. I don't think he'll be disappointed (in the final) this time."
