Villarreal forward Giuseppe Rossi has admitted that he is a lifelong AC Milan fan.
For this reason, the Italy international, who was born in New Jersey and claimed a double against USA in the Confederations Cup this week, hopes that he may one day get the chance to wear the Rossonero colours.
"Playing for Italy was my dream," Rossi told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "USA (former) boss (Bruce) Arena called me, but playing in the blue shirt was my dream.
"I was born in the United States, I have family there and to me it’s like home. I spent five to six years in Italy and used to watch Milan as a kid, when (Arrigo) Sacchi, (Marco) van Basten, (Ruud) Gullit were there.
"What would I do if (Milan vice-president Adriano) Galliani called me? I would answer ‘hello’!"
