Beckham convinced Kaká to sign for Real Madrid

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

Kaká has revealed how David Beckham helped him make a decision to make a move to Real Madrid.

The Brazilian became the world's most expensive player ever on Monday after completing his £62 million from AC Milan to the Bernabéu.

Kaká admitted he had wanted to stay at the San Siro, but after Milan accepted a record offer, he asked advice from former Real winger Beckham who only had good things to say about the Spanish giants.

"I spoke to some friends, like Beckham, who has already played for Real," Kaká told a media conference in Recife.

"He said it's a fantastic club, a very good place to play and a great experience.

"I spoke to him this past week and he kept helping me, he said I made a positive choice for my career's growth.

"I've been weighing up the offer from Real Madrid a lot. It's an important project for me to continue growing in my career."
