Real Madrid sporting director Miguel Pardeza insists that they currently have no plans to attempt to sign Arsenal skipper Cesc Fàbregas.
Reports in Spain suggested Real could turn to the 22-year-old star after baulking at Liverpool's asking price for Xabi Alonso.
But Pardeza is adamant Fàbregas is not under consideration at this time.
He told Marca: "He is a great player, there's no doubt about that.
"But at this moment he is not an target for Real Madrid. The club are working on other alternatives."
