Didier Drogba set for new Chelsea deal

Wednesday, August 5, 2009

Didier Drogba looks set to finish his career at Chelsea as he reportedly agreed a new three-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

According to The Sun, the deal is expected to be announced within the next few days and will be worth over £100,000 a week.

The 31-year-old striker had been linked with a reunion with José Mourinho at Inter Milan, as they share a special relationship.

Drogba, though, had always maintained he was committed to Chelsea and was determined to at least see his deal out, which was due to end in 2010.

And he is now set to further his career in England by penning an extension which will keep him with the Blues until 2012, which could be approaching the time he considers retirement.
