AC Milan confirmed on Thursday the signing of Real Madrid and Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

"AC Milan announce they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the purchase of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar," read a statement on the club website.

"The Dutch player will undergo a medical tomorrow, after which he will sign a contract tying him to the Rossoneri until June 30, 2013."

Vice-president Adriano Galliani had already stated this morning that a deal had been reached between the two clubs for the 25-year-old.

He told Sky Italia: "The agreement has already been closed with Real Madrid.

"Huntelaar will arrive in Milan this evening (Thursday), then we will perform his medical and he will sign the contract."

Although no figures have been confirmed, it is believed Milan will pay between €15 million and €18 million for Huntelaar in a deal welcomed by Real which are keen to reduce the size of their squad after a massive summer spending spree.

Huntelaar moved to the Bernabéu in January but he has failed to shine during his time in La Liga, scoring only eight goals in 20 league appearances.

Los Merengues recently agreed to sell Huntelaar to VfB Stuttgart for a reported fee of €20 million but the Dutchman turned down the move and the deal collapsed.
