Ten-man Blackburn Rovers climbed out of the bottom three thanks to a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at Ewood Park.
Gabriel Agbonlahor gave the visitors the perfect start with just three minutes on the clock before Chris Samba slotted Blackburn level on 24 minutes.
The hosts were then reduced to ten men in the 68th minute when Vince Grella earned a second booking after an unnecessary foul on James Milner.
But Blackburn won it with an 89th minute David Dunn penalty after Richard Dunne blocked Franco di Santo's overhead kick with his arms above his head.
