Gabriel Milito back in training after 17 months

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Barcelona defender Gabriel Milito has returned to training after more than 17 months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The Argentine damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Blaugrana's Champions League semi-final with Manchester United in April 2008 and has been out ever since.

However, according to Marca, Milito pulled on his boots and participated in a series of exercises with the ball in Barça's training session earlier Tuesday.

The 29-year-old recently returned to Spain after undergoing the first phase of his rehabilitation in his native Argentina.

Despite participating in ball work during training the Barcelona medical staff are refusing to pencil in a specific date for a comeback.
