La Liga: Málaga 0-2 Barcelona

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Reigning champions Barcelona continued their 100 start to the season after seeing off battling Málaga 3-0 at the La Rosaleda.

Zlatan Ibrahimović, who replaced the injured Thierry Henry in the 29th minute, opened the scoring on 39 minutes when he latched onto Lionel Messi's through-ball and slotted home, albeit from what looked like an offside position.

Another replacement, Gerard Piqué, increased the lead just before the hour mark when he turned home Xavi's inswinging free kick.

Málaga finished the game with 10 men after substitute Albert Luque was ejected for a late tackle on Barcelona right back Daniel Alves five minutes from time.
