Nicklas Bendtner injured in car crash

Nicklas Bendtner is understood to have sustained cuts to his knee and pains in his shoulder after he was involved in a car crash on Sunday morning.

According to The Daily Mirror, the Arsenal striker wrote off his £120,000 Aston Martin while driving to his club's training ground.

Bendtner careered off the road and ploughed through a fence before smashing into a tree and coming to a stop in a field.

The supercar was badly damaged in the accident in which the 21-year-old escaped with his life.

"Nicklas did not practise because he had a car accident yesterday," Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger said after training yesterday.

"Fortunately there was no real long-term damage, but he was bruised and we thought it better he did not train."
