Premier League: Portsmouth 1-2 Tottenham

Sunday, October 18, 2009

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp enjoyed a happy return to Fratton Park as 10-man Spurs beat Portsmouth 2-1.

Ledley King headed Spurs in front just before the half-hour mark before Pompey old boy Jermain Defoe tapped home the second on the stroke of half-time.

Kevin-Prince Boateng, flogged by Spurs in the summer, grabbed one back for Portsmouth and, two minutes later, Defoe was sent off for stamping on Aaron Mokoena in front of referee Phil Dowd.

The numbers were evened up in the final minute as Michael Brown was dismissed after being shown a second yellow card.
