Chelsea stayed at the top of the Premier League standings after outplaying ten-man Bolton Wanderers 4-0 at the Reebok Stadium.
The turning point arrived on the stroke of half-time when Jlloyd Samuel was dismissed for bringing down Didier Drogba in the box and Frank Lampard converted the subsequent penalty.
The points were secured just past the hour mark when Deco slotted home a second just after the hour mark following good work by Nicolas Anelka.
Zat Knight turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Branislav Ivanović to make it 3-0 and Drogba rubbed salt into the wounds by netting the fourth in injury-time.
