Bayern stars Robben & Lahm get feisty on training pitch

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

There was trouble at training for Bayern Munich as Arjen Robben and Philipp Lahm were involved in a scuffle.

The two players locked horns during a training game when Lahm took the ball away from his Dutch team-mate with a sliding tackle from behind.

Robben went down before jumping back up enraged and putting his hand on the Germany full-back's throat.

Fellow players Thomas Müller and Croatian Ivica Olić intervened in the dispute to prevent the situation from escalating.

But although there was plenty of anger and frustration immediately following the incident, it had all disappeared by the time they were all back in the changing rooms.

"Everything is normal," Robben told the BILD newspaper.

"That’s what happens during training. Nothing special. Afterwards everything was back to normal again. Ask Philipp."

Lahm replied: "Yes of course. Nothing will come of it."
