Roberto Mancini: I don't have problems with Craig Bellamy

Sunday, February 21, 2010

While Roberto Mancini denied a report of a serious rift with Craig Bellamy, the Manchester City manager admitted he had an argument with the Wales striker.

It was reported that the pair had a furious exchange at City's Carrington training ground on Thursday.

According to the report, Mancini screamed at Bellamy after the player refused a request to train with one of the manager’s Italian staff.

Mancini admitted there had been a difference of opinion between him and Bellamy regarding the treatment of his knee injury, but played down reports of a serious rift.

The former Inter Milan boss told the press: "I have no problem with him.

"I haven't shouted with him, never. These things (an argument) can happen in a job. I don't have problems with Craig.

"I spoke with him in the office and read that I shouted at him. But I didn't. We just spoke face-to-face.

"He is having treatment at the training ground and if the knee is okay, he will be available for Sunday."
