Third-placed Valencia cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win against struggling Real Valladolid to boost their hopes of a return to the Champions League.
Éver Banega broke the deadlock after eight minutes when he lashed home a fierce drive which gave Valladolid goalkeeper Justo Villar no chance as it flew into the top corner.
Valencia doubled their lead just four minutes later as David Villa beat Villar with a close-range header.
