Everton moved up two places to eighth in the Premier League with a comprehensive 5-1 demolition of Hull City at Goodison Park.
Mikel Arteta, who missed the first half of the season through injury, opened the scoring after 17 minutes when he turned home a cross from Yakubu Ayegbeni.
Young midfielder Tom Cairney equalised for the Tigers with a brilliant volley just three minutes after Yakubu had a 29th minute penalty saved by Boaz Myhill.
Arteta restored Everton's lead in the 39th and a cross from the Spanish midfielder was headed into his own net by Hull's Richard Garcia from virtually under the crossbar.
Landon Donovan and Jack Rodwell then sealed a sixth successive home league victory for the Toffees in the second period.
