Ivory Coast and Portugal played out a lackluster goalless draw in their World Cup Group G opener in Port Elizabeth.

Portugal had the best chance to break the stalemate on a crisp winter's afternoon when Cristiano Ronaldo hammered a 30-yard shot against the frame of the goal in the first half.
