Maicon: I won't leave Inter, unless they want to sell me

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Brazil right-back Maicon has told Inter Milan fans that he will not leave the club unless president Massimo Moratti decides to offload him.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the wake of José Mourinho's swap from the San Siro to the Bernabéu. And he was quoted in Spanish media saying he would love to play for Real.

However, Maicon is adamant his comments have been misconstrued.

"They misunderstood me," said Maicon. "I didn't say I want to go to Real Madrid.

"I said that if there would be another club I would like to go to now, after winning these important titles with Inter, it would be Real Madrid, no other club.

"Not a lot would change if I had to play for Real Madrid.

"I am happy at Inter and the fans can rest assured that I will not leave unless the president decides to sell me."
