Messi & Busquets wants Fàbregas deal

Thursday, July 15, 2010

Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets are now the latest in a list of Barcelona players to reveal their desire to see Cesc Fàbregas return to his boyhood club.

Yesterday, Andrés Iniesta admitted he is "desperate" to see his Spain team-mate move to the Camp Nou after the Arsenal man laid on his winner against the Netherlands in Sunday's World Cup final.

And on Monday, defensive pair Carles Puyol and Gerard Piqué caused controversy as they forced a Barça shirt over Fàbregas' head during Spanish celebrations in Madrid.

"I would be delighted if he came," Messi told reporters in Panama. "We played together as kids in Barça's youth team and he knows the club."

Busquets added: "He is a great player that would add a lot to the team.

"But we have to respect that he is owned by another club that is not Barcelona, that he is an Arsenal player and, for the time being, there's nothing to be done."

The pair's comments will cause attitudes to harden at Arsenal, where club bosses are already furious at Barça's continuing attempts to unsettle their skipper.
