Euro 2012 qualifier: Germany 3-0 Turkey

Germany continued their strong start to qualifying for the 2012 European Championship with a 2-0 win over Turkey in front of 74,000 fans at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.

The home side initially struggled to open up a well-organized Turkey team but Miroslav Klose broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute with a rebound after a Thomas Müller header hit the crossbar.

Mesut Özil, who is of Turkish heritage and was constantly booed by the Turkey fans, doubled the lead with a powerful shot in the 79th minute before Klose wrapped up the win with three minutes left.
