Euro 2012 qualifier: Northern Ireland 0-0 Italy

Saturday, October 9, 2010

Italy will be disappointed not to have extended their lead at the summit of Group C of Euro 2012 qualifier after their goalless draw against Northern Ireland in Belfast.

The Italians were the dominant force throughout but neither Marco Borriello, Antonio Cassano or Giampaolo Pazzini could take chances to steal the points.

Lineups:

Northern Ireland: Maik Taylor; Gareth McAuley, Aaron Hughes, Jonny Evans, Stephen Craigan; Chris Brunt (Niall McGinn, 72), Chris Baird, Steven Davis, Grant McCann (Corry Evans, 80); Warren Feeney, David Healy (Kyle Lafferty, 66)

Italy: Emiliano Viviano; Mattia Cassani, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Domenico Criscito; Daniele De Rossi, Andrea Pirlo, Stefano Mauri; Simone Pepe (Giuseppi Rossi, 84), Marco Borriello (Giampolo Pazzini, 79), Antonio Cassano
