Javier Pastore wants to remain at Palermo

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Argentine hotshot Javier Pastore believes Palermo are the perfect club for him to grow as a player therefore he does not see any reason why he should leave the club.

Pastore, labelled the new Zidane by Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini, is fast becoming one of the most sought-after players in European football, and it seems only a matter of time before he departs the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in taking the 21-year-old to Spain, Chelsea and Manchester City want him in England, whilst Inter Milan hope to keep him in Italy.

However, the player himself has indicated he is happy to remain a Rosanero for the time being.

Pastore told La Repubblica: "I think this is the ideal environment to grow and improve.

"There are many young players who are doing well and other more experienced figures who help you out. It's a bit like what happened to me at Huracán.

"There isn't too much pressure here and (coach) Delio Rossi has really helped me to improve. I am happy here and don't have to worry about anything.

"The team is growing and so am I with them. I don't see why I ought to leave."
