Cani scored from the halfway line to help Villarreal to a 4-2 win over Osasuna and consolidate their third place in the La Liga standings.
Villarreal took the lead after 22 minutes thorugh Marco Ruben's header but Osasuna equalized just after half-time when Krisztián Vadócz glanced in a corner at the near post.
The Yellow Submarine regained the lead in the 50th minute when Cani caught goalkeeper Ricardo off his line and beat him with a lob from 50 yards out.
Joan Capdevila made it 3-1 for Villarreal on 65 minutes and substitute Javier Calleja added drama to the match with Osasuna's second in the 71st minute, but Gonzalo RodrÃguez sealed the win a late header.
