Maxi opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a deflected shot before Dirk Kuyt doubled the lead from the spot after Luis Suárez was pulled down by Mike Williamson in the 59th minute.
And Suárez made the game safe six minutes later when he exchanged passes with Kuyt to sidefoot under Tim Krul from 10 yards.
