Turkish club Sivasspor remained loyal to their tradition of lamb killing ahead of a pre-season match with FK Rad.

The bizarre stunt took place at the Sivas 4 Eylül Stadium last Saturday and was captured by a dozen cameramen and photographers stationed around the animal.

The Turks started the rite by getting a tarpaulin down on the touch line and slitting a live lamb's throat before smearing the claret all over their boots in an attempt to give them good luck before the game.

And it worked as the home side went on to clinch the match 4-1.
