An extremely young Falkirk team raced into a three goal lead within a half hour with goals through Craig Sibbald, Jay Fulton and Blair Alston, which saw Hibernian fans walking out of the stadium.

Pat Fenlon's side looked done and dusted, but came out of the gates in the second to pull off an incredible comeback.

A fine strike from Alex Harris pulled one back in the 51st minute before Griffiths made it 3-2 in the 78th minute and Eoin Doyle's long-range effort hauled Hibs level and sent the game into extra-time.

With penalties looming, Griffiths sealed a remarkable seven-goal thriller five minutes from the end of extra time.

Falkirk failed to deal with a Hibernian corner kick and when the ball was knocked back to Griffiths he let fly with a stinging drive from 30 yards that nestled in the back of the net.
