Robert Lewandowski has confirmed his desire to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer amid strong interest from Bayern Munich.
The Poland striker has been linked with a number of big clubs over the past few months, with Bayern leading the race for the 24-year-old's signature ahead of Manchester United.
With his contract set to enter its final year, it looks likely the club will sanction a move, a decision that Lewandowski believes makes sense for all concerned.
Lewandowski told Sport Bild magazine: "We have had an agreement with the club for some time. I have informed the person in charge.
"I expect everything to be cleared up now so that I will be allowed to move to my dream club this summer. That would be the best for all sides."
He added: "Dortmund are a fantastic club, and I will always adore them. I wish them the best for the future, but now I want a new challenge."
Should Lewandowski move to Bayern, he would follow in the footsteps of teammate Mario Götze.
