Internacional built a nice 3-1 lead over América Mineiro in the first leg of their Copa do Brasil third-round tie on Wednesday.
Their third goal came from Maurides in the 88th minute, and the 19-year-old was understandably excited since it was the first goal of his young career.
So to commemorate the important goal, Maurides went into an elaborate cartwheel-backflip celebration.
His move went smoothly until the final landing, when Maurides landed awkwardly and twisted his knee.
He was carried off the field on a stretcher and missed the final minutes of the game.
According to the team doctor, Maurides' knee sprain was more of a scare than something that will sideline him for a lengthy period.
