Hannover took the lead in the 23rd minute courtesy of Christian Schulz's first goal on home soil in three years.

Hertha fancied their chances of levelling and, after a spell of sustained pressure, they found it through Ronny's effort with nine minutes to play.

The Brazilian midfielder had only been introduced one minute earlier, but made immediate impact with an amazing free-kick.

Hertha were awarded a free-kick 25 yards from goal and Ronny stepped up to hit an unstoppable effort that swerved into the top corner with Ron-Robert Zieler motionless.
