Tan has become a lighting-rod of controversy ever since he purchased a controlling share of the Welsh club in 2010.

The 61-year-old businessman first drew the ire of the Cardiff faithful in 2012 when he changed the club's colours from blue to red.

This prompted protests and rage that have only been strengthened by Tan's decision to sack popular manager Malky Mackay this week after a much-publicised ultimatum via email.

Fast forward to Saturday's game against Sunderland when Tan arrived in the first match following the sacking of Mackay and he was roundly jeered by Bluebirds fans.

Despite the abuse, the eccentric billionaire seemed to be enjoying himself, joining in with the celebrations after each of his team's two goals.

However, Cardiff inexplicably surrendered a two goal lead in the final seven minutes to draw 2-2, and a torrent of abuse was directed at Tan after the final whistle.

Tan reacted with disgust and appeared to boo his own players - or the Bluebirds fans - before chuckling as he exited his executive suite.
