Zlatan Ibrahimović wants Lionel Messi reunion at PSG

Zlatan Ibrahimović believes signing Lionel Messi would take Paris Saint-Germain to the next level and make them a whole new force to be reckoned with in European competition.

Rumours in the French media have suggested the big-spending Parisians are preparing a record bid for Messi amid rumours that the Argentine may be unsettled at Barcelona for uncertainty over an improved contract.

Ibrahimović and Messi spent a year playing together at the Camp Nou but failed to strike up a particularly successful partnership.

However, the Sweden international has declared that Messi would be top of his club's shopping list if he becomes available for transfer.

"If Messi is on the market, PSG will be there. Not just PSG, the whole club in world will be after him," Ibrahimović told reporters at a winter training camp in Doha.

"I don't know the situation but I think he's happy at Barcelona.

"It's the media that create this atmosphere but only Messi has the answer."

Signings such as Ibrahimović, Thiago Silva, Lucas Moura, and Edinson Cavani have got many people believing PSG can genuinely challenge for Champions League honours this season.

The 32-year-old added: "PSG's project is to dream bigger but if you buy Messi, you don't dream bigger, you are bigger."
