Amelia: Playstation helped me stop Dinho

Monday, December 1, 2008

Palermo goalkeeper Marco Amelia explains how he managed to stop Ronaldinho's first penalty - with the help of Playstation!

Amelia, who is Italy's second choice goalkeeper behind Gianluigi Buffon, made several key stops, including one crucial save from Ronaldinho's first half penalty, when the game was still scoreless.

"It was like playing against Ronaldinho on the Playstation," he excitedly claimed. "He did the same run-up, it was very strange!"

The players came one-on-one again in the second half once the Sicilians already had a 3-0 lead, but Amelia was unable to keep Ronaldinho's spot-kick on that occasion.

"I saw at the last second he was changing the angle and so I charged up my legs to launch myself at it. I almost got the second too, but that would've been too much!"
