Coppa Italia: Sampdoria book final spot

Sampdoria reached the final of Coppa Italia despite losing 1-0 to Inter Milan at the San Siro.

Zlatan Ibrahimović fired the hosts in front after 28 minutes but overhauling Samp's 3-0 advantage from the first leg proved too tough a task.

Sampdoria returned to the fore in the second half, with Antonio Cassano being denied what would have been a spectacular goal by a fine save from Júlio César after he had slipped past three Inter defenders.

Maxwell was then forced to clear a Hugo Campagnaro header off the line with 15 minutes remaining as Inter began to rock.

And José Mourinho's side ended the night with 10 men following the 90th-minute sending-off of Marco Materazzi.

Sampdoria now go on to play Lazio in the final after the capital club completed a 4-2 aggregate victory over Juventus on Wednesday.
