Maicon eyes Inter Milan exit

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Brazilian right-back Maicon has revealed his intention to leave Inter Milan because the club are only focused about "satisfying Zlatan Ibrahimović".

The 27-year-old had an excellent season and established himself as one of the best full-backs in the world.

And Maicon believes he deserves more because he has always been committed to the Nerazzurri.

"I am not a phenomenon, but I am not any old player either," Maicon told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"For three years Inter have treated me with indifference, perhaps, because they are all worried about satisfying Ibrahimović.

"I am not jealous of him. He is a phenomenon and I don’t want to recall how many assists I have provided him with over the past years.

"That’s is not the problem. It’s just that I am tired of being mistreated."

He added: "I quickly said that I would gladly stay at Inter to win the Champions League. As you can see, I have made all the good actions.

"From the club I have only heard silence and this behaviour hurts me.

"I have asked my agent, Antonio Caliendo, to do everything possible to make me happy again. I am looking for happiness at Inter or another club.

"I have seen a happy Kaká. He has moved from a great club to another. I want to feel the same happiness on my skin. Is that too much to ask?"
