Wayne Rooney: I could've been a priest
Table of Contents
Soccer ace Wayne Rooney claims he could have turned to the priesthood had he not become a professional footballer.
The Manchester United striker said that the only thing that interested him as a kid, apart from soccer, was religious studies.
He told The Sun: "I haven't a clue what else I would have done. I wasn't really the best in school
"I always enjoyed RE (religious education) — so maybe a priest."
During his career, the 23-year-old has demonstrated that he is perhaps better suited to a career in soccer than priesthood through several incidents of visiting brothels and swearing at referees.
