A lone Nilmar goal in the second half was enough to earn Villarreal a 1-0 win in their Europa League opener against Levski Sofia at a near empty El Madrigal.

Villarreal were on top from start to finish, but had only Nilmar's 72nd minute winner to show for their superiority.
