Bordeaux maintained their promising start in the Champions League Group A thanks to a 1-0 triumph at home to Maccabi Haifa.
Both sides looked set for a goalless draw until Michaël Ciani broke the deadlock with a header seven minutes from time.
Maccabi still had time to snatch a point but their hopes were dashed when Baram Kayal was shown a straight red card in the 88th minute for a studs-up lunge on Benoît Trémoulinas.
